The one-man project VÉNEN is brand new, but its claws are spreading around the underground. After a demo in 2017 and a first album called “Az elmúlás világa” in 2018 followed by a second album in the same year “Patrimonium Philosophicum“. Vénen from Hungary is getting attention and seems to be one of the most high anticipated album this semester. The mystical “Parameśvara” delivering an Avantgarde Funeral Black Doom Metal.
There are a lot of voiced passages, intros, climax of pure hindu anti cosmic magic and a razor blade guitar followed by a ghostly and terrifying voice that sings, screams, and do clean vocals. Yeah, clean terrifying vocals. Made in conspiracy between Hammer Of Damnation and Metal or Die Prods, limited to 300 copies, the release of “Paramesvara” is scheduled for July 1st, with shipments from that date.
The tracks are long, the entire album is around 44 minutes of pure destructive mantras that will make you aware and conscious of everything karma has reserved for your immortal soul. The songs are cyclic, threatening and repetitive in the best Hindu style. The guitars distort the mantras and evoke haunting screams as they flow into primal melodies that seem recorded in a timeless cave. The cacophony is comforting as it prepares us for yet another cycle of destruction – inertia – devotion – agony and more destruction across worlds and diverse lives: The album is a sound Samsara.
Musically recommended for fans of Cult of Fire, Marblebog, Death Karma…
