Recently his creator has been passed away but this iconic and true to his beliefs person recorded the 2nd Wodulf’s full length album. And his last testimonial in life. Wodulf was the occult side of talented musician Hjarulv Henker and all of his beliefs into the dark side of life.
Wodulf deals mostly with necromancy, death cults, paganism, pride and true vampyric war cults. Lyrically it´s highly influenced by Mortuary Drape, Necromantia and Rahowa (Cult Of The Holy War).
Venom From The Mouth Of The Dead opens with Introit: Beyond The Altar, an intro that reminds us a lot from Sarcófago’s Recrucify intro on Warfare Noise I.
The second track Maledictions Across Acheronic Shores is a non stop rawful music, a lot of Dark Throne’s Transylvanian Hunger are there. No rest for the wicked.
The third track Curse This Grave, the title itself suggests a morbid song.Starting all slowly, doomer and with bells. This song is a tribute to the Italian masters of Mortuary Drape, sometimens slow , sometimes mid-tempo and sometimes fast. For sure one of the highlights of this album.
Ghost Of The Gallows is the fastest song ever presented on this album. Wodulf is a very diversified band and they musical tastes and knowledge are very awesome. Raw and fast South American sound on this track. Very good vocals’s job of Jarl von Hagall.
In The Crypts Of Elder Blasphemies comes as next and there are a lot of Brazilian Behemoth sentiment here… Do I need to say more about? Just listen to it bitch and shut up!
Distant Echoes Of Forgotten Pagan Mysteris, Deathlust/Erichtho and Venom From The Mouth are the 3 last tunes of the album.Although Wodulf is a greek band and if you are looking for this kind of sound. Wrong place dude! Hjarulv Henker and his talented riffs brought us a jouney to the glorious past of real underground sentiment where tape trading was the law and good demos and early albuns of bands such as Mortuary Drape, Behemoth (Bra), Asaradel, Dead Christ, Beherit,Dark Throne were coming to our table. Venom From The Mouth Of The Dead brings us this sound to the modern and shit way of 2021. Thanks for your endless inspiration and work Hjarulv Henker!
