That Wolflust has been treading a path of glorious fights and victories in the necrounderground is a fact. The band has s released two Eps, “Satanic Megatons” from 2020 and the new-born “Endless War” and both can now be considered true masterpieces, two gems that in a few years will be revered as true Extreme Metal classics, with a strong and destructive soundscape that still manage to be a true tribute to the masters of the past and that will be very pleasing to those who enjoy bands like Sarcófago, Angel Corpse, Blasphemy, old Beherit, etc. Hearing how the band is razor-sharp and sweeping in their studio work makes you wonder how explosive they must sound in a live performance and that’s exactly what you’ll discover listening to “Bestial War and Damnation – Live at Necropole Hall” ” that the band is now releasing under the banner of “Hammer of Damnation” and which contains nine nuclear hecatombs recorded live in a memorable concert held on May 25th at “Necropole Hall”. The presentation in question brings the well-known duo formed by drummer T. and guitarist and vocalist C. accompanied by bassist Bruno Schmidt (Divulsor) and in addition to literally putting you in the middle of the audience of a Wolflust show, it will transport you back in time. to sometime in the 90’s. All those who lived through the 90’s must remember how underground concerts were full of metalheads eager to meet new bands and how intense the exchange of energy between band and headbangers was. It was not uncommon for someone in the crowd to record a clandestine tape with the audio of the show that would later be shared with the scene through the worldwide network at that time called “tape trading”. I have several treasures from that time in my personal collection that bring the audio of several bands in their raw and cold format with the total interaction between the public and the horde, the dialogues between the songs, the insanity of the headbangers present…. All this is exactly what you will find in “Bestial War and Damnation – Live…” but recorded with an extremely professional sound quality although the production allows to keep some “sonic spikes” that help to maintain the ambience of this release, in a totally old school way. About the track list, after the intro “Prelude to Nuclear Genocide” we have the trinity “Under Satans Command”, “Morbid Crucifixion” and “Bestial Desecration” all taken from the band’s debut EP and which manage to sound even more brutal and devastating in its live versions; in the sequence we are hit by the cover version of “Satanic Lust” by the band Sarcófago that shakes the structures of Necropole Hall and almost brings the house down; “March of the Infernal Legions” follows and closes the compositions of the EP “Satanic Megatons”, the powerful and unbridled “Ummerciful Shattered Dawn” arrives showing why drummer T and guitarist C are in tune with each other and how important this is in a band like Wolflust; Then, the cover version of the classic “Blasphemer” by the legendary Sodom explodes from the speakers; this track was already present in the EP “Endless War” in this same version but if you were ever amazed by the brutality of that release you have to know that here this track is just another chapter and knowing the full story will surely make you crazy; story that comes to an end in the following track “Destroyer – The Vengeance of the Blackened Beast”. Totally badass presentation !! Totally orgasmic album. And here’s a warning toall sailors, “Bestial War and Damnation – Live at Necropole Hall” will be released exclusively as part of issue number 3 of Black Metal Terror magazine so hurry up and get your copy before it’s too late.
